Dr. Vasserman founded what is now Sunstone Psychology Group in 2021, after spending much of the COVID pandemic working in a local group practice, where she provided both psychotherapy and conducted neuropsychological evaluations.

Dr. Vasserman is a licensed clinical psychologist who enjoys working with clients of all ages and has specialized training and education in working with children and adolescents. Dr. Vasserman has experience working with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma, eating disorders, chronic self-harm, substance abuse, personality disorders and major mental illness in both pediatric and adult populations.
She has a special interest in peri and postpartum difficulties as well. Dr. Vasserman also very much values and enjoys teaching in both the academic and clinical settings and is an adjunct professor at William James College in the Clinical PsyD program.

Dr. Vasserman has experience with pediatric/young adult neuropsychological and personality assessment, where her specialties include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning Disabilities, and overall social and emotional functioning. She also has training and experience administering projective tests and is a fluent Russian speaker.

Dr. Vasserman received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Brandeis University and a master’s degree in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education before earning her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from William James College. Her predoctoral training experiences included working in a school counseling center with adolescents as well as with adults suffering from major mental illnesses in an acute hospital setting. She went on to complete her pre-doctoral internship at the Lynn Community Health Center, where she received extensive experience working with the chronic illnesses, substance abuse, and pediatric emotional and behavior issues.

Dr. Vasserman completed a postdoctoral fellowship at MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center, where she was given specialized training in pediatric neuropsychological assessment and working clinically with adolescents in an acute hospital setting. Dr. Vasserman has specialized training in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and tends to combine these empirically based modalities with a warm, strengths-based, and individualized approach to treatment. She enjoys providing group therapy as well and has run numerous expressive and creative groups, DBT groups, as well as groups targeted towards recovering from substance abuse and major mental illness.

Past research interests include the intersection between psychology and learning as well as the impact of expressive therapies in the treatment of children with PTSD.

In her free time, Dr. Vasserman enjoys traveling, dancing, and spending time with loved ones (humans and animals of course)!
