Gabriella Messina, M.A., is a third-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at William James College. Throughout her clinical training, she has worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and older adults in community mental health, private practice, and hospital settings.
Her clinical experience includes working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship concerns, and major life transitions.
Most recently, Gabriella trained at the VA Boston Healthcare System, where she worked with veterans experiencing Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and other cognitive concerns through neuropsychological assessment.

Gabriella utilizes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from psychodynamic, attachment-based, cognitive behavioral (CBT), and relational approaches based on the individual needs of her clients.
Her professional interests include grief and loss, anxiety and depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, and working with transition-age and young adult populations.

Gabriella’s dissertation focuses on childhood and adolescent experiences of loss and family disruption, with particular interest in how developmental stage and caregiver support may shape psychological adjustment into adulthood.

Outside of her clinical work, Gabriella enjoys reading in the sun, spending time with her partner and miniature dachshund, and exploring New England.
