Hi! My name is Lucy, and I am a fourth year clinical Psy.D. student at William James College. I am originally from Portland, Oregon, and earned my B.S. in psychology from Washington State University and my M.A. in psychology from William James College.
I chose to become a therapist because of my deep passion for helping and supporting others as they navigate their lives.
I have a strong interest and clinical experience working with clients diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, those who have experienced trauma, those dealing with current or past self-harm and recurrent suicidal thoughts and feelings, and/or those experiencing mental health changes postpartum.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in both a psychiatric hospital setting and within a school system as well as transitional age youth and adults in an outpatient setting.
I have training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), crisis work, suicide prevention and postvention, and trauma informed care.
A good summary of my personality involves a lot of laughing. I love making other people laugh as a way of connecting with them. I am a fairly cheerful person who is wildly passionate about what I do. When I’m not throwing myself into my work, I enjoy spending time with my 2-year-old brown tabby named Bob and my fiancé, decorating my apartment pink, and trying out new coffee drinks.
In order to get the most out of therapy with me, engagement is key and both of us should bring our genuine and authentic selves.
